What Build Broom collects
Nothing. The app has no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising or attribution code of any kind. In App Store Connect’s terms, Data Not Collected applies to every category.
Network access
Build Broom has no network access. It does not contact a server on launch, on a clean, or at any other time — there is nowhere for anything to be sent, and no update check or licence call to make.
The one exception is not Build Broom's own: if you leave a tip, the purchase is made through Apple's App Store, which handles the payment under Apple's privacy policy. Build Broom only learns whether this Apple Account has tipped, and never sees your payment details.
Where your data lives
Everything Build Broom keeps stays on your Mac:
- Your preferences and the security-scoped bookmarks for folders you have granted access to.
- The record of past cleans, which is what the Cleaning History window reads.
- The last scan’s figures, so the window can open on them instead of an empty table.
In the Mac App Store edition these live inside the app’s sandbox container. Nothing is synced, and nothing leaves the machine.
Required-reason APIs
Apple asks apps to declare why they use certain APIs. Build Broom declares three, in PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy:
| API category | Reason | What it is used for |
|---|---|---|
| User defaults | CA92.1 | Preferences and folder bookmarks |
| File timestamp | 3B52.1 | Modification and access dates of files you granted access to |
| Disk space | E174.1 | The free space shown to you |
The file dates are what let Build Broom say “Not used for 64 days” about an item. They are read, shown to you, and never recorded anywhere else.
Tracking
No. Build Broom does not track you, does not use the Advertising Identifier, and contains no third-party SDKs.
